Chat Archives

The current bulk of chat lives on the home page, but a bit of a ruthless prune now and again keeps the web site trim. Old chat never disappears though and it's still most amusing to trawl through the old anals.

Some more of the good stuff.

  • CHAT December 2005- August 2006
The ever present threat of spammers is threatening to destroy our non-password protected access forever. Will they succeed? The largest peace-time explosion in Europe is amongst the topics discussed, also Christmas chatter regarding stupid Penguin tossing games and 12th night dates, Badger features prominently having another mid-life music crisis, moaning about Amazon, the arrival of the Flickr photo site. All fun and games.

  • CHAT December 2004- November 2005
The longest Dave's ever left the site without archiving. Chat went really stale towards the Autumn, but with talk of Wiggins Canada emigration the chat has started to perk up a bit. Just in time for Christmas, nice.

  • CHAT May 2004 - November 2004
Steve F is welcomed as a regular. Badger talks LPG, TV drama and Trago, Who is new girl, is it Uli and what's her relationship with Dino? MH muses on the US Presidentials, more babyhatters arrive, Hannah Patrick, Alyssa Sweeting, Johnny Wiggins, Lucy Rodrigues and little Matthew Brabham. News about the (trademarked) Rancid Prawn diet and an exclusive on Dino's Tonsils, ah bless.

  • CHAT September 2003 - April 2004
A very long chat forum this 'un. Not archived for ages. No.
Dave Wid starts life as a teacher. Everyone who goes to Edinburgh has a good time. Chat ablaze over Popcorn and Benson's starring role on the screen for Act 2. Nick, John, Liz, Sion, Josie, Mikey H talk about stuff. What else, ah yes - babies. Lots of 'em. Our mate, Simon Harrowing turns up again... and then resplendent spotty teens make a comebakc in the form of Rach and Izzie - bless 'em.

Well, a bit of a mixed bag this one. Mr LeBurge still in the States, Dino obsessed with clip art, the entire cast of Father Ted, George Bush, Saddam Hussein and Ronnie James Dio posting on the site. It all defies belief really and yet the standard of amusing chat still somewhat wanting. Some good use of embedded pictures though. Much talk about the Football match and excitement about the second Madhatters Edinburgh trip.

  • CHAT Aug 2002 - Feb 2003
Mr Gnome, The Gin Bitch and The Joker all made an appearance. Some quite boring chat between Dino, Simon and Dave who seem to frequent the site a little too much. Stuff about Edinburgh and some older Drama bods come on the scene but all in all a quiet six months.

More clever tripe from the Ponderer results in a defensive chat site - most people prefering not to drop their guard, hence chatting freely not flavour of the month. Bizarre, really. Edinburgh, came and went, talk of Footie match and the first whiff of censorship? Surely, not on Madhatters? Is Mr Patrick letting the side down and does he want his ball back?

Ouch, Sock, Zap, Take That, Kerbif, Pow. This is a slugfest and no mistake. The unwelcome comments of the Ponderer seemingly offending all and sundry, whilst some would argue lifting the level of excitement on the chat site to fever pitch. Has it really come to this, surely Madhatters can rise above this and prevail? Find out in the next installment...

It seems that the whole world and his wife have been made redundant this year. Whilst not strictly funny, there's nothing that makes a heavy heart light than sharing your bad news with the caring fraternity of the Madhatters chat page.

  • CHAT Nov-Dec 2001
Hello, it's the run up to Christmas. Sion and Josie are determined to make the MH chat site an extension of their own domestic affairs, meanwhile people wanted to know if 'Alfred the Dancing Monkey's' days really are numbered? Back at the ranch, Andy's come good about his Playboy parties.

  • CHAT Sep - Oct 2001
The period started off with England thumping Germany 5-1. Madhatters football fraternity enjoyed this very much, then on Sep 11th the world went mad. New York was attacked by terrorists and the mood of the chat page reflects this very much so. On the bright side it was enjoyable to see Nostradamus wheeled out again. Towards the end of Sept we got some chat about the good old days, i.e. pre the collective hatters memory which was nice. A very good couple of months for Chat.

The summer period brings with it such sweet chat. We've had some lovely weather (ahem!) and lots of people have been putting up sheds, going on holiday and other important stuff. Although a blip caused the entire deletion of May. Whoops.

  • CHAT March 2001
A sad month for chat on the site... one to many swipes at certain individuals made the home page a place to be feared by ordinary Madhatters during March. This ain't what it's about, mind you there's still some funny stuff and it's worth a quick Frank.

What happened to December then? Oh dear, anyway Jan and Feb more than made up for it with the reappearance of Steve Diver, the long awaited return of The Insulter and some great insights from Dinosaur and John (they're not a duo by the way, but we can dream).
